Pinot Noir Review

Not going to lie after our first review we were nervous if we drink another wine that is awful what do we do?? Welp nothing to worry about here because ummmmm… YUMMMMM!

Layer Cake’s Pinot Noir had everything you could want: under $20 price tag, smooth, refreshing, a summertime red. Jackie had a head start and told me this is a bottle finisher (which Jackie did indeed finish the bottle), so I rushed out to buy it.  You can purchase at Kroger or Target, but since Target had a $2 coupon we went to the holy land and purchased it.

Since I (Lindsey) was behind the 8 ball, my wine was not chilled and I think it would have been even more enjoyable slightly chilled. Even though Jackie harassed me for being “fancy” I did aerate my glass to let it breathe some.  While FaceTiming Jackie and watching my husband clean I sipped this beauty and every sip got better. I (Jackie) was in much need of a glass after dealing with Fitz (3 month old puppy) who is struggling with potty training.

So we both poured a glass (Lindsey’s first; Jackie’s second) and both laughed as we took a smell.

Sooo what should we be tasting?

Jackie: I taste alcohol

Lindsey: Well yes… maybe raspberry?

Jackie: Ummmm grapes?.

Lindsey: Really? You can do better than that…..

Jackie: Ehhhh it tastes like cranberries and tobacco…..?

Lindsey: Well what does the bottle say?

Jackie: Well tasting notes are not on the bottle but a cute story is (goes to Google and searches tasting notes).

*And we were both right!*

Jackie: I mean whatever is in it is goooooddddddd

Lindsey: You also just said Franzia Crisp White was good 🙄

**This was supposed to be in confidence. Note to self never tell Lindsey another secret**

Jackie: Hey now… if it is good enough for Betty (Jackie’s grandma)

**And to defend myself Crisp White is a good summer wine and I will be getting Lindsey to try it. Please don’t judge!!**

As you can tell our profiles are quite different, but the main takeaway is this Pinot Noir is perfect for different palates. We will be added to the list to bring/serve at dinners. We are so glad that we found a reasonably priced good wine!

Pinot Noir Me Please!
