Lindsey:
So, I love Rosé my husband not so much, but we both agree on 2: Beaulieu Vineyard Rosé and McManis Rosé. The splurge is BV Beaulieu Vineyard Rose it is absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, it is a winery exclusive and on the more expensive side. My mouth literally waters thinking about this wine. After tasting it at the winery we started trying to figure out how to get it home and purchased 2 bottles without a plan…..That is how good it is. An affordable priced Rose that we both enjoy and decided we would purchase again is McManis. It is the definition of a porch pounder. Goes down smoothly and helps ease the stress of 2 boys and a dog. This bottle retails for around $12.00. I was able to get this from a local wine shop Water Tower Fine Wines. If you are local to Cincinnati I highly recommend it! This wine is light and fresh. The perfect wine to sit outside and spill the tea to your friends.
Jackie:
I have a hard time finding Rosés that I could, as Lindsey puts it, porch pound. I have an eccentric taste for wine. I love the big bold Cabs or lighter pinot noirs but when it comes to whites and Rosés I have a hard time finding ones I like. This might sound strange, since I tend to drink alottttt of red wine, but I like a good mildly sweet white or Rosé in the Summer. I cannot really tolerate a dry white ohhh and don’t get me started on oaked barrel wines (more of that in later posts). Over the years I have come to find Rosés (and whites) that I simply cannot stop drinking in the summer. One of those happens to be found from one of my favorite wineries in Napa- Trefethen. Their S.I.N (Summer in Napa) Rosé is one of those Rosé that you cannot put down. I could give you all the tasting notes but you can just read it on their website because they do it a heck of a lot better than I would. It retails for $26 but if you going their wine club you get the member price of around $20. Like Lindsey when I went to Napa, I too bought too much wine and ended up checking a case of wine at the airport (insert girl slapping her face emoji). But, hey what can you do. I love wine.

One cheaper Rosé that I drink on the regular is Ava Grace Rosé. You can pick up this bottle for about $9. This wine you could find at Kroger or at Wine.com. Best of all…..screw cap. This wine is great if you are heading to a summer bonfire or to a friend’s house where the corkscrew situation is unknown. To me this wine is not super fry and has a lot of flavor. Plus you can’t beat the price. This wine was also listed as #20 on Wine Enthusiast’s list of Top 100 Best Wine Buys of 2019. So give it a try and let me know what you think!
So now onto the fun part! This week’s tasting:
Rated 89 by Wine Enthusiast (we have no idea what that means besides 90 is amazing, so 89 must be good…right?!?) and under $15, so we decided we had to try.
If you haven’t seen Chloe wines at the grocery store then you haven’t been looking. Chloe wine is everywhere, even the best place on Earth…Target.
The grapes are from California in the Monterey region (hello Big Little Lies). It is made from the Pinot Noir Varietal. Now for the real reason you are reading: our real talk….
The bottle and presentation is super cute and would totally give as a hostess gift. I mean who doesn’t love the bow detail and clean label?!? Even better you can create your own label, making this the best gift. Plus, the label making is free!

So the taste…In full transparency ehhhhh not our favorite wine… I mean we are not ones to not finish a bottle when we open it, but after one glass we both put it back in the fridge hoping to come back and like it… Not so much. I, Jackie, even poured a second glass thinking it would get better, but ended up pouring it back in the bottle where it still remains in the fridge and switched to red. So, needless to say neither of us would reach for it again.
The wine was extremely dry compared to other Rosé’s. It was almost tart and not thirst quenching. We have had better and we have had worse. Good news it didn’t break the bank, so no harm done. Would we buy it again? If it was the only option sure, as a hostess gift sure (but more for the look than anything else), but to sit back and enjoy time and time again no.
Unfortunately, the first taste test we did was not our favorite. We struggled with having to say we didn’t enjoy it, but we also decided welp it is what it is and we have to be honest. If there are any Rosé’s out there that you love please let us know we would love to find another to review!
